Orchardly Park Again!

There was a playgroup at Orchardly Park and of course Madelyn and I were excited to attend. Here is a video of Madelyn playing in the water.

This week Madelyn has started showing compassion to others when she has noticed they might be sad! I never knew I would be so proud of her for sharing a teddy bear or a shovel. I expected those moments would come when she brought home her first 100%, did well at sports, or music. It all started on Sunday when a lady in our ward was crying after saying goodbye to the primary because she was moving. Madelyn notice she was crying and she brought her teddy bear over to her to make her feel better. I was completely shocked because I don't remember teaching her to comfort others when they were sad.  This was something she did all on her own. Anyway, a similar thing happened today at the park. If you watch the movie closely you will notice that a little boy gets ran over by a big kid and starts crying. After a few minutes of assessing the situation Madelyn brought him her shovel. I was so proud of her!! I usually have a hard time getting her to share her toys, but I guess if she thinks someone needs them worse than she does then she has no problem!  I am so glad to observe these precious moments and hope she never grows too old to show compassion.

Orchardly Park

Ohio is full of fun metro parks for little people to play at.  Today we went to my favorite so far.  There were slides, ropes, a splash pad, and a whole lot of sand!  The sand was Madelyn's favorite part.  There was a pump in the sandbox that pumped out in three different directions.  This makes for a very nice irrigation system through out the whole sand area

I had planned on Madelyn falling asleep on the way home, but this is what I found as we pulled into the driveway.

She has a cute little face, and I find watching her in my rear view mirror is much more fun than watching the cars behind me.
Oh, and just in case anyone is wondering it is 4:00 and I am still waiting for her to take her nap!  I guess we just had too much fun to sleep.

The NEW Dishwasher!

We haven’t had a working dishwasher since we moved into our little townhouse last August. At first I thought it was the end of the world. Then it slowly became a normal way of life. I think I learned a little more about ‘putting my shoulder to the Wheel’ and working a little harder. However, those days are behind me and I am glad to announce that my landlord sent the Maytag man over to install a new dishwasher. I can’t even begin to express the excitement that I have to cook dinner and not have to worry about the dishes afterwards!!!!! Hello 21st Century!!!

This is the Old Dishwasher
This of course is the nice new quiet dishwasher!

In other news, Madelyn made applesauce oatmeal muffins for our Monday morning breakfast.  She is turning into such a great cook!

She might have added just a little too much cinnamon, but who would blame her, she is only one.
Other than that, they were mighty tasty little muffins.

AND just for fun, here she is wearing her sun hat and eating pretzels.
