The End of April

Before I let April slip away I just want to post a few things that have happened this month.
First off, my family started an exercise competition leading me to start going to a mommy baby boot camp class at the gym. Turns out Madelyn gets more exercise than I do, but it is still fun for the both of us. Last Friday the nice instructor handed out some winter hats to all the little people. Below is a picture of Madelyn sporting her new hat and getting ready to hit the gym with me.

Secondly, summer has started to creep through the rain clouds. Just because it was 80 degrees outside today we had to pull out some of our summer clothes and take pictures.  We are getting excited for the pool to open!

Grocery Shopping

Madelyn started walking around today with her friend's grocery cart. It was amazing. It was the first time she has walked without needing any assistance. What a little shopper she is turning into. I couldn't be more proud.

Happy 28th!

The night before Dan's birthday I asked him what he wanted. Well, if you know Dan, you know that he never wants anything for himself. This makes it is hard for me to surprise him or even get him anything. However, he did list a few things just to be funny. He asked for a Lightning McQueen pinata with Spiderman driving. He wanted the pinata filled with money and not candy. He also wanted the pinata to be able to with stand some heavy hits with a bat and not break the first time he swung. This gave me a great idea. I went to Kroger and decided to get him a Lightning McQueen balloon and tape a Spiderman on it. Then I filled two blue balloons with some cash and helium. I figured that a balloon wouldn't brake when swung at so it passed some of the criteria. I put them in the living room and had them waiting for him when he got home from school. He thought it was pretty funny. And of course Madelyn was mesmerized by the balloons. She laughed pretty hard when Dan popped them and the money flew out.
Then waiting on the table I had designed my version of Dan's research project. Before this next picture is judged unfairly I must say I have never actually seen any of the equipment Dan is working with. All I had to go off of was the picture in my head that I have formed from Dan explaining it to me. And after a few guesses from Dan, I realized that what I thought it looked like was not really what it actually looks like.
Then on to the main event. The big gift! Dan has had the same cell phone for around 8 years. It was on its last leg and it needed to be replaced. So, I snuck off to T-Mobile and asked around to see what my options were. Turns out when you keep a phone 8 years you are eligible for some pretty need upgrades. Dan was actually surprised I got him a phone and pretty excited about some of its capabilities.

Then lasagna for dinner and fried ice cream for dessert. It is good to say that we are the same age again! Yay for 28!

Happy Easter

This Easter marks a few firsts for our little family. It was the first time we dyed Easter Eggs together.  It was of course Madelyns first Easter. And if this counts as a first, it was the first time we have had Easter together as a family in three years. It was great!
Here is the final product.
Who is pictured below? Starting at the top left Giraff, Hippo,
Madelyn's 1st, Camo, Polka-dot, Dino
Sparkles, Flowers, Watermelon, Madelyn's 1st again.
This is Madelyn crawling to her Easter basket.  She loved it!

I filled her eggs with puffs and she thought it was amazing!
We hope everyone had a great Easter!
P.S. Happy Birthday Dan!

Our Last Trip to Indiana

Last week we took a trip up to Indiana to visit the cousins. I didn't take very many pictures this time, but I did capture some great moments of Madelyn in her little car getting pushed by Jonah and Isaac.

While we were in Indiana Madelyn received some fun pictures that were taken during our Valentine's visit.

The cousins all sporting our new sunglasses that Grandma gave them for Valentines.

Making a cousin train with Grandma. At the time this was all of the Willcox cousins but since then they have grown by one more! It is already time to make another cousin train.

Madelyn and Ruben catching up with each other. Every time they get together they have a new trick to show off to each other. They keep each other pretty entertained the whole time we are there. We are definitely going to miss the Hurst when they move away. It is always so nice to be close to family!
